Key Technical Cooperation Interventions
Step up leadership
Advocate at the highest level to strengthen the health system response to survivors of violence in all its forms and to victims of road traffic injuries and other unintentional injuries, including drowning.
Support countries
• Strengthen emergency care and trauma care for victims of road traffic injuries and other unintentional injuries, with a focus on employing best-practice measures such as having a single emergency number, a trauma registry, and formal certification for prehospital providers. • Build capacity of health care providers to prevent and respond to survivors of violence, mitigate consequences, and reduce reoccurrence, with a special focus on violence against women, children, adolescents, youth, and migrant populations. • Strengthen the health system response to survivors of violence in all its forms and to victims of road traffic injuries and other unintentional injuries, including drowning.
Produce technical products on norms and standards, data, and research
Develop guidelines for health workers on evidence-based strategies and interventions to prevent violence; respond to the health needs of victims of violence, particularly persons in conditions of vulnerability, to mitigate consequences (such as death and disability); reduce reoccurrence of violence; and respond to the health needs of victims of road traffic crashes and other injuries.
