The value of evaluations resides in their use. In 2023, PAHO started taking practical steps by establishing a dedicated working group for the implementation of the recommendations of the Evaluation of PAHO's Response to COVID-19, known as IREP-C19. This group oversees the implementation of the report's recommendations, ensuring that they are put into practice. From April to August 2023, PAHO Evaluation backstopped the entire process and provided crucial support in developing the IREP-C19 Action Plan. This coordinated effort reflects PAHO's commitment to learning from the past and actively working toward a more resilient and effective provision of technical cooperation in public health in the Region.

After the publication of final evaluation reports, PAHO Evaluation provides critical support to the entities involved in implementing the recommendations of the evaluation. Part of this includes helping the relevant stakeholders prepare the management response, plan and launch implementation. With this, PAHO Evaluation helps ensure that evaluation findings are considered and used by the Organization to produce the intended impact in improving PAHO's performance.
PAHO features an Evaluation Platform to record the management responses and action plans to implement recommendations from evaluations. It is also used to streamline the sharing of past evaluation summaries and insights. By disseminating lessons learned, the platform empowers PAHO to replicate successful initiatives and implement recommendations within a culture of continuous improvement.
