In September 2025, PAHO launched a corporate evaluation on Human Resources for Health (HRH). Its objective is to assess the relevance and coherence of PAHO's technical cooperation to strengthen HRH in the Region within the framework of PAHO's Strategic Plan, the mandates of the Governing Bodies, and contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to assess its effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability during the period 2018-2024, taking into account the post-pandemic context of PAHO and the Member States. A team of external consultants is conducting the evaluation.

The final report is expected to be ready in April 2026, with validation, publication, and dissemination planned for May 2026. The resulting robust evidence base will serve as the foundation for practical recommendations to strengthen PAHO's health human resources policies and technical cooperation in a rapidly evolving health workforce landscape.
