PAHO Evaluation: A strategic function for better decision-making in Public Health across the Americas
Evaluation is a core pillar of PAHO’s Results‑Based Management Framework, enabling the Organization to understand how intended and unintended results are achieved and their implications for PAHO's stakeholders.
The purpose behind everything we do in Evaluation
PAHO's Evaluation function aims to create a strong evaluation culture that strengthens institutional performance, promotes learning, and enhances accountability to support better policies and decision-making.

Dr. Jarbas Barbosa, PAHO Director

“PAHO's efforts in building an evaluation culture are pivotal in
guiding our new approaches and has set a benchmark for excellence.”

From Evidence to Action: Building a culture of continuous improvement

Evaluation findings should inform PAHO’s stakeholders and be integrated into PAHO’s planning, programming, budgeting, implementation, and reporting functions. Furthermore, evaluations strengthen corporate accountability, evidence-based policymaking, organizational learning, and performance improvement, and contribute to building trust with Member States and partners.

Evaluations
What we do?

At PAHO, we conduct systematic and impartial evaluations to strengthen accountability, inform decision-making, and promote organizational learning. Through credible, evidence-based findings and recommendations, evaluations contribute to improving technical cooperation, enhancing corporate performance, and building trust with Member States and partners. This work aligns with UN norms and standards, ensuring credibility, rigor, and independence.
