In 2024, the Turks and Caicos Islands strengthened health sector stewardship through the launch of the National Health Sector Strategic Plan 2024–2027, which provides a unified strategic framework to guide national health priorities and implementation over a three-year period, supporting better coordination, prioritization, and accountability across the sector.
PAHO supported this milestone through technical cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Human Services, including technical support for the strategic planning process and ongoing engagement with national counterparts throughout the plan’s development.
This achievement contributes to improved continuity of policies, more efficient use of resources, and a stronger enabling environment for expanding access to quality health services, thereby accelerating progress toward universal health coverage.
