PAHO strengthened health leadership and governance in Sint Maarten through the development of the PAHO 2026–2031 Country Cooperation Strategy, providing a clear strategic framework to accelerate progress toward a people-centered health system and health for all. PAHO convened senior officials from the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labor, other government sectors, and civil society, facilitating participatory dialogue to define priorities and deliverables.
This strategic alignment positions Sint Maarten to accelerate health gains across the life course by advancing multisectoral action on the social and environmental determinants of health, strengthening systems for the prevention and control of communicable and noncommunicable diseases, and institutionalizing a Health in All Policies approach. With sustained engagement from national stakeholders and targeted support from PAHO, Sint Maarten is now better equipped to achieve measurable improvements in population health outcomes while contributing to broader regional public health goals.
