Evaluation in Action: Country Perspectives
The Evaluation team facilitated an Evaluation Clinic session for PAHO's Program Managers Network (PMN), creating a dynamic space for practical learning and knowledge exchange. The session showcased country-led experiences from Belize and Guyana, highlighting how decentralized evaluations are not only improving programs but also helping colleagues become evaluation champions, leaders who use evidence confidently, promote learning, and strengthen accountability within their teams.
The main purposes of this first session of the PMN Clinics were to share updates on the Annual Report on Evaluation 2024 and PAHO's Evaluation Policy, to share perspectives and lessons learned on decentralized evaluations from country perspectives, and to present the new template for the Management Response Plan.
Hearing the experiences directly from the countries allowed us to understand the real impact of PAHO's initiatives and reaffirmed that evaluation is not only an assessment tool to identify our achievements and gaps but also a beacon that guides our growth and continuous improvement. Special recognition goes to the PWRs, Program Managers, and teams from Belize for leading an enriching conversation on the opportunities, challenges, and good practices of evaluations in local contexts. Their preparation and generosity in sharing their learnings were invaluable.
