In September 2025, PAHO launched a corporate evaluation of the Technical Cooperation on Health Workforce (HWF), formerly known as Human Resources for Health (HRH). Its objective is to assess the relevance and coherence of PAHO's technical cooperation to strengthen HWF in the Region within the framework of PAHO's Strategic Plan, the mandates of the Governing Bodies, and contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to assess its effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability during the period 2018-2024, taking into account the post-pandemic context of PAHO and the Member States. A team of external consultants is conducting the evaluation.

The final report was approved by the Director in July 2026, and the publishing and dissemination are expected by September 2026. The resulting robust evidence base will serve as the foundation for practical recommendations to strengthen PAHO's HWF policies and technical cooperation in a rapidly evolving landscape.
