During the 2024–2025 biennium, PAHO played a central role in strengthening the Bahamas’ public health approach to preventing and responding to violence, including violence against women and girls, and other populations in situations of vulnerability.
In the 2024–2025 biennium, PAHO supported the Ministry of Health and Wellness in implementing and scaling up the Perinatal Information System Plus (SIP+) as a core component of the national digital health agenda in The Bahamas.
Over the biennium, PAHO supported the Bahamas in consolidating infection prevention and control (IPC) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) efforts as integral components of health system strengthening and disease elimination.
In 2024–2025, PAHO supported the Bahamas in achieving its first comprehensive assessment and strategic planning process for rehabilitation and assistive technology services.
With sustained technical cooperation from PAHO, the Bahamas finalized and launched its Health National Adaptation Plan (HNAP) in late 2024, establishing a coherent framework to integrate environmental considerations, including climate change, into national health planning and decision-making.
