During the 2024–2025 biennium, the Cayman Islands joined the newest cohort of countries and territories implementing HEARTS in the Americas. PAHO supported the efforts of the Cayman Islands in this regard, under the regional flagship initiative Better Care for Noncommunicable Diseases (NCD).
Despite external shocks such as Hurricane Melissa, the Cayman Islands demonstrated adaptability by maintaining progress in priority areas for health emergency preparedness. This reflects a broader pattern of resilience, with the territory consistently implementing emergency preparedness measures and communicable disease initiatives.
