During the 2024–2025 biennium, PAHO played a key role in strengthening British Virgin Islands’ capacity to address critical social determinants of health, with particular focus on prevention of and response to violence against women and girls, and healthy aging.
In the area of health emergency preparedness and response, PAHO contributed to strengthening the British Virgin Islands’ capacity to manage health risks associated with emergencies and disasters.
With the support of PAHO, the British Virgin Islands’ health authorities have increasingly aligned local efforts with the global cervical cancer elimination strategy, which seeks to dramatically reduce cervical cancer through vaccination, screening, and treatment.
